Description
A relatively difficult circular walk on Hirzli 1640m and Planggenstock 1675m.
Route: Cable car Niederurnen - Morgenholz, then Morgenholz - Schwinfärch - Forsthaus - Hirzli - Planggenstock - Ober Planggen - Bodenberg - Morgenholz
The section Hirzli - Planggenstock is a little exposed and should be walked along only under good conditions and dry weather. The sign at the point 1575 says: "Ridge Walk / Only for hikers who do not suffer from vertigo".
From the top there is a nice panorama view over the Walensee, the Linth plane to the the Zurich lake.
Access
By train and bus: Take the train to Ziegelbrücke, take the bus there to Niederurnen (Ochsenplatz). Walk behind the community hall along the right bank of the stream to the cable car station.
By car: Drive to Niederurnen. There is small parking place the cable car station Niederurnen - Morgenholz. There are more parking slots at the community hall (5 minutes on foot).
